eVoter Profile of Republican Pam Haynam Candidate 2010 Ohio General Election

I am the only candidate to have Board of Education experience, having served 12 years on the Sylvania School Board. In addition, I own my own company, Haynam Consulting and have worked for over 33 years do consulting mainly within Fortune 500 companies. I have an MBA from the University of Toledo and a B.S. in Applied Science from Miami University majoring in Systems Analysis. During my tenure on the Sylvania School Board, the students, teachers and district employees worked to improve the district's state rating from continuous improvement, to effective, to excellent, to excellent with distinction. Also, while I was on the board, the voters in the community approved 2 bond issues and 2 operating levies, all on the first attempt.

I am running for the State Board of Education because I understand the life-improving impact that a quality education has on an individual and the economic impact that quality educational systems have on a community, a region or a state. My education in Systems Analysis taught me to solve problems by first defining them and identifying alternative solutions. My MBA in Finance taught me to find the most cost effective alternative and implement it. My business experience has given me practical real world experience doing that. My experience in politics has taught me that this rational approach is not necessarily the most politically favorable, but that's ok, it gets things done.

Personally, my husband and I met in high school band camp, we have 3 children, all of whom received excellent educations in Sylvania Schools. Thank you for your support, Pam Haynam
